About the New Zealand Rabbit Council

The Rabbit Council of New Zealand Inc. is an organisation whose objectives are:

  • To protect, further and co-ordinate the interest of all New Zealand rabbit breeders.
  • To assist and extend the exhibition of rabbits.
  • To promote the use of rabbit wool (specifically Angora and Cashmere wool) in production, focus on its unique properties, ethical sourcing, and sustainable practices.
  • To foster the improvement of all rabbit breeds, and provide a unified body whose collective voice has a benefical effect on rabbits in New Zealand
  • Encourage and maintain the qualities of recognised breeds.
